Fotografía Psíquica (Psychic Photography)

Ted Serious fue un destacado pero peculiar personaje. En los años 60`, a través de la fotografía, afirmaba poseer poderes correspondientes a la rama de la parapsicología, pudiendo producir imágenes fotográficas que revelaban los pensamientos de quienes eran retratados por él.  Por medio de artefactos fotográficos de fabricación propia, Ted Serious logró una cantidad sustentable de material que comprobaba su teoría, además de poseer numerosos testigos que se unían a su discurso. Poco más de tres años desde su incursión paranormal, éste perdió sus poderes y abandonó el misterioso proyecto.

Si bien, poco se conoce sobre este material a nivel colectivo y general, sirvió como pie forzado y cuestionamiento para la creación de este proyecto, el cual se basa en la representación de los deseos de mi abuelo, inmigrante francés, y el imaginario de lo que hubiese querido que sucediera en su vida si las circunstancias de ella fueran distintas en el pasado.  Así, la construcción del proyecto se basa en la recolección de un relato, de vida sobre mi abuelo y bajo su propio discurso (y letra), en donde se extraen los aspectos principales de su vida y se expresan aquellos que podrían haber ocurrido de acuerdo a la voluntad y deseos personales.

La construcción de imágenes corresponde a imágenes libres virtuales (exentas de copywright), las cuales son digitalmente manipuladas a través de la superposición del rostro de mi abuelo, introduciendolo dentro de esta realidad y dimensión, proyectando de manera no-lineal la cronología del imaginario extraído del relato.

Por otra parte el genograma, sistema que permite al individuo conocer su historia generacional identificando patrones relacionales y de comportamiento, actúa como hilo conductor para la unión de conceptos en una instrospección dinámica sobre el pasado, el presente y el futuro.

Ted Serious was an out-standing but peculiar person. In the 60s `, across the photography, he was affirming to possess power corresponding to the branch of the parapsycology, being able to produce photographic images that were revealing the thoughts of those who were portrayed by him. Through photographic appliances of proper manufacture, Ted Serious achieved a sustainable quantity of material that was verifying his theory, besides he possessed numerous witnesses who were supporting his speech. Little more than three years from his paranormal incursion, he lost his power and left the mysterious project.

Though, little is known on this material in a collective and general level, it served as forced foot and question for the creation of this project, it which bases on the representation of the desires of my grandfather, immigrant Frenchman, and his imaginary of what he had wanted that it was happening in his life if the circunstances were different in the past. Inthis way, the construction of the project is based on the compilation of a statement, of the life on my grandfather and under his own speech (and letter), where there are extracted the principal aspects of his life and express those that might have happened in agreement to the will and personal desires.

The construction of images corresponds to free virtual images (exempt of copywright), which are digitaly manipulated across the overlapping of the face of my grandfather, introducing him inside this reality and dimension, projecting in a non-linear way the chronology of the imaginary extracted from the statement.

​

On the other hand the genogram, system that allows to the person to know his generational history identifying relational bosses and of behavior, it acts as conductive thread for the union of concepts in an instrospective dynamic on the past, the present and the future.
